Analytical department of Association of milk producers announces this information.

January data of milk production in Ukraine shows that whole amount of milk has shortened by 0.2% to 578 ths. tons. Agricultural enterprises produced 205.8 ths. Tons of milk, which is 4.2% more than for the analysed period of 2016. Production in households has decreased by 2.6% — 372.2 ths. tons.

The number of cattle for this year on industrial farms has decreased by 4.5%, cows by 4.1% — to 1279.7 ths. and 504.8 ths. respectively.

National currency in relation to dollar has added 0.03 UAH to 27.23 UAH/doll.

Diesel gas oil keep its price-growing trend — +0.03 UAH (22.10 UAH/l).

The average price for Extra Grade milk for the February 14 has reached the level of 9.48 UAH/kg, which is 0.02 UAH less than previous week. The highest price for it was paid in Cherkassy region — 9.46 UAH/kg, and the lowest in Khmelnitsky region — 9.10 UAH/kg.

The average price for Higher Grade milk was 8.85 UAH/kg, which is 0.01 UAH more than previous week.  The highest price for this grade was paid in Poltava region — 9.71 UAH/kg, and the lowest in Rivne region — 8.30 UAH/kg.

Price for Grade I milk has lost more than other — 0.04 UAH (8.56 UAH/kg). The highest price for this milk was paid in Kiev region — 9 UAH/kg, and the lowest in Lviv region — 7.20 UAH/kg.

This week in Ukraine starts a celebration of Maslenitsa and it is the last moment when we can expect the increase of dairy products sales. Fast is started on February 27, so next 60 days’ sales will be weak.

Retail prices for dairy products this week were quite stable, and grew only for some items. Thus, milk with the fat content 2.5% has added in price 0.50 UAH and cost 22.80 UAH/kg. The price of butter continues to grow adding 4 UAH to 178 UAH/kg. The average price of "Russian cheese" this week added 0.97 UAH — to 159.70 UAH.
