Weekly milk and dairy products prices monitoring — May, 5
Purchase milk prices pass from a course of decreasing trend.
Analytical department of Association of Milk Producers of Ukraine announced this information.
According to the last monitoring since May 5th, average price for extra grade milk lost 0.17 UAH/kg, and decreased to 8 UAH/kg.
Average price for higher grade milk this week was at the level of 7.76 UAH/kg, which is 0.24 UAH/kg less than a week ago. Milk of Grade I fall in price to 7.68 UAH/kg (-0.12 UAH/kg).
Nowadays tendencies demonstrate quite opposite dynamics. Last GDT trades showed the growing of prices for dairy products to 3.6% or 3166 USD/t. The most significant jump in price showed milk fat adding 21.8% to 1859 USD/t. Butter also added in price — 4911 USD/t (+1.1%). SMP lost 0.9% of price (1982 USD/t), WMP, on the contrary, added 5.2% (3233 USD/t). Such data give the opportunity to a profitable export.
At the same time, according to the State statistics service of Ukraine the quality of milk for processing shows significant improvement. For the first quarter of 2017, 898,2 ths tons of milk with base fat content was realised for processing (+2.7% comparing with 2016), 592,7 ths. tons of milk — from industrial farms. The portion of realised extra grade milk was 17.3%, higher grade —38.7%, Grade I — 37.1%.
With such a significant fall in price for raw materials, retail prices have just stabilized. At the same time prices for cheese have raised. "Russian" cheese added 2.10 UAH/kg — to 168.45 UAH/kg during this week.
