Weekly milk and dairy products prices monitoring — April, 7
Milk purchase prices still keep downward trend and this week prices fell to 0.03-0.05 UAH. depending on the grade of milk.
Analytical department of Association of Milk Producers of Ukraine announced this information.
The amount of milk products production in this year January-February respond the rates of previous year — 255.6 ths. t. Production of most groups of milk products has dropped. The exception is milk and butter. Ukrainians try to buy only the most essential dairy products and prefer milk to yogurt or cheese. The volume of butter increased due to quite good export.
The components of milk cost this week have changed under the influence of devaluation processes, since mean rate of hryvnia exchange in relation to dollar (NBU) dropped to 1 UAH — 27.16 UAH/USD.
According the last monitoring from April, 4 the average price for extra grade milk fell by 0.04 UAH/kg — up to 8,46 UAH/kg.
The average price for higher grade milk this week was 8.33 UAH/kg, which is 0.01 UAH/kg higher than the price the of previous week.
The price of Grade I milk also fell to 8.15 UAH/kg (-0.03 UAH/kg).
At the same time, the retail price of whole milk products and cheese continue to rise. For example, milk with fat content 3.2% added this week 0.15 UAH/kg — to 24.25 UAH/kg. "Russian" cheese added 1 UAH/kg — up to 165.48 UAH/kg.
Processors do not plan to reduce prices for cheese, though their realization is quite sluggish. They expect that before Easter sales become more active and they will sell their stock resources.
