According to the grain and legumimous supply and demand balances of APK-Inform Agency, in 2013/14 MY Ukraine to export 34.4 mln tonnes of grains. The stated forecast is possible to reach owing the grains production increase — to 57.1 mln tonnes. Meanwhile the main three crops exports (wheat, barley, corn) will decrease to 23.5 mln tonnes despite the production increase. This was declared by the analyst of Andrey Kupchenko on September 11 within the round-table for traders and logists «Grain exports through the Ukrainian ports».
The expert noted the main reasons of unrealized export potential of the Ukrainian grain market is unfavorable price conjucnture and insufficient discharge capacity of the infrastructure. So the export services can be provided just only by the large-scale exporters with the developed logistics scheme.
A.Kupchenko stated, in July-August 2013 grain exports increased by 11% in comparison with the last year rates, meanwhile their production grew by 26% and the export potential — by 38%.
Besides, the expert noted, wheat, maize and barley stocks increased to 1.6 mln tonnes in the port terminal stores. Thus, tehre is expected grain capacities deficite after new crop maize to enter the market.
