Ukraine planted spring grains throughout 7.2 mln ha – Ministry of Agrarian Policy
As of June 1, Ukrainian agrarians planted spring grains and pulses throughout the areas of 7.183 mln ha, or 98% of the forecast, an increase of 0.385 mln ha compared with the same date last year, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, agrarians planted corn for grain throughout 4.391 mln ha (98%), buckwheat – 132 thsd ha (102%), millet – 86 thsd ha (71%), rice – 12 thsd ha (102%), and sorghum – 62 thsd ha (74%).
Also, Ukraine planted sunflower seed throughout 5.264 mln ha (101%), and soybeans – 1.819 mln ha (90%).
