Ukraine has exported over 19 million tons of grain

As of March 30, Ukraine has already exported 19.3 million tons of grain, in particular, in February-March 3.2 million tons. Such rates will allow this marketing year grain export forecast fulfillment. This was announced by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of the Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

«If we sum up the export of February and March, the farmers have already exported 3.2 million tons of grain. This is a good index to implement the forecast by the end of the current marketing year. In general, since the beginning of the marketing year, Ukraine exported 19.5 million tons of grain and 19.7 million tons together with food processing products,» Mykola Prysyazhnyuk mentioned.

Besides, about 1.3 million tons of grain are in the ports or have already been loaded on the ships. So, this amount will also be exported in the nearest future.

«However, domestic food security remains our task number one. That is why we constantly monitor the balance of grain at the domestic market and keep up with economic situation. If we summarize grain exports of this marketing year, as of April 30, it was exported almost 4 million tons of grain more against previous marketing year,» Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.
