For 11 months of 2012 the trade balance of milk products remains positive and it is 347.4 million USD. In general, the milk products export in January-November of 2012 is 144.5 thousand tonnes on the total amount of 508.1 million USD. This was announced by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of the Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

«We have emphasized that the agriculture industry had shown the positive external balance. I would like to point out the importance of animal production export, in particular milk products. Thus, last year the milk production by agricultural enterprises has been increased by 13.6% that has become a positive factor to keep export position. In general for 11 months of 2012 the milk product trade balance remains positive and it is 347.4 million USD», Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.

The Minister has informed that the milk products export in January-November of 2012 is 144.5 thousand tonnes on the amount of 508.1 million USD. According to Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the largest share of exported milk products is cheese — 43.3% or 62.5 thousand tonnes. In addition, it has been delivered into the foreign markets 41.5 thousand tonnes of condensed milk and 22.3 thousand tonnes of whey.

The Minister has also said that for 11 months of 2012 it had been recorded the growth of milk production in Ukraine.

During January-November of 2012, the production of processed liquid milk was increased by 6.4% and it was 843 thousand tonnes, butter — by 15.2% and it was 82.5 thousand tonnes. Besides, domestic enterprises have increased the production of unfermented fresh and lactic cheese by 3.6% and the production of fermented milk products by 3.4%.
