Last year Ukraine exported meat and meat products on the amount of 316 million USD. Thus, in comparison with 2011 beef export was increased by 95%, pork, poultry and offal products by 62% each. Only in 2012, meat production in Ukraine was increased by 2.1%.

In 2012, meat and meat products were 15.4% of the total sales of food products, beverages and tobacco products. Such high rate has been achieved due to sustained cattle, pigs and poultry increase at enterprises and farm units.

«Compared to the previous year, production of poultry meat and offal products was increased by 2.7%, canned poultry meat by 14.9%, semi-finished meat products by 32.9%», Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of the Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine said.

At the same time, meat and meat products export rates were significantly increased. In general, last year Ukraine exported meat and meat products on the amount of 316 million USD. Thus, domestic farmers supplied to foreign markets 8996 tonnes of beef (on the amount of 42.2 million USD) that is 95% more than in 2011 year. Pork export was 92.6 million USD and reached 20,208 tonnes. The biggest amount of export belongs to meat and poultry offal products and reaches 80,653 tonnes on the amount of 145.2 million USD. Thus, pork and poultry exports were increased by 62%.

It should be mentioned that the State Economy Activation Program for2013-2014provides building and reconstruction of 153 livestock complexes that will increase livestock production. Besides, in 2013 the State will support individual farmers and family farms owners to increase beef and pork production.
