Ukraine exported almost 4 million tons of grain
Ukraine exported almost 4 million tons of grain. This is 16% more against the last year. However, it is necessary to reduce tariffs for export logistics and transportation. This was announced today by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk at a press conference.
«There is active grain trade at the domestic market and high indexes of grain export. Ukraine has already supplied almost 4 million tons of grain to the foreign markets. This is 16% more against the last year. We should increase this index every month as our export capacity exceeds 30 million tons. Therefore, our task is to intensify grain coordination and logistic,» said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
The Minister said that in the nearest future this issue would be more urgent due to the high yield of corn. Currently, there is a special working group in Ukraine to solve the problem. The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a price reduction of veterinary and phytosanitary certificates.
«Besides, grain traders should strengthen their responsibility at the grain market. When there is a low yield, traders export maximum amount of grain. When the situation is different and the yield is big they don’t want to work because the price is lower,» said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
