Total volumes of dairy products imported by China has grown by 23%
In the January-November period, China imported about 2 mln tons of dairy products, which is 22.9% more compared to the same period of 2015 (in the year-on-year period). In value terms import indexes has grown to $6 billion (up12.6%).
It is reported by the Analytical department of Association of Milk Producers of Ukraine .
China imports decreased in volumes for only skim milk powder — 173 ths. tons. (down 6,3%).
Imports of cream increased most of all — 79.5 ths. tons (+ 57.3%) and liquid milk — 502.7 ths. tons. (+ 45.1%). The volume of cheese imported was 30.9% more than last year — measured 89.3 ths. tons.
The country also bought: 198 ths. tons of infant milk formula (+ 27.8%), 385.8 thousand. t. of whole milk powder (+ 17.7%), 457.6 ths. tons. of whey powder (+ 16.4%) and 75.4 thousand. t. of butter (+ 21%).
Due to low prices for dairy products on the world market, imports of whey powder in value terms was 409.6 mln. doll (-16.1% than previous week). Imports of dried skimmed milk went down to 23.5% — 370.7 mln. doll.
The revival of import demand from China has a positive effect on the development of the global dairy market in general and the pricing.
