The agricultural sector continues to hold its leading position in the domestic economy. Agricultural production, export and turnover increase prove this. Thus, the volume of agricultural production increased by 5.1% for four months. In particular, the largest one was in Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi regions. This was announced by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

«From January to April, the index of agricultural production compared to the same period of last year increased by 5.1%. Both agricultural enterprises (9.7%) and farm cooperatives (1.3%) have agricultural growth. Thus, there is an increase that confirms its leading position in the domestic economy. And we will do everything to maintain this positive tendency in the future. Because we understand that it influences both the state’s economy and the welfare of Ukrainians», Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.

The Minister has also said that the production of agricultural goods increased in 19 regions. In particular, the largest one was recorded in Vinnytsia (42.2%) and Khmelnytskyi (17%) regions.

Except production increase, Ukraine continues successful agricultural products export.

«Ukrainian agrarians produce more agricultural products than the need of the coutry. Thus, it is important for us to expand the markets. We successfully do this. For example, from January to March the export was increased by 10.7%. During this period foreign trade turnover of agricultural products was also increased by 14.8% compared to the same period of last year and it was amounted to 6.4 billion USD», the Minister said.
