This year farmers will receive almost 28 million UAH of the state support. The state will allocate these funds at the beginning of the budget year to give farmers an opportunity to use these funds throughout the year. This decision was approved by the Government. According to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the following changes will increase the number of farms and the effectiveness of their work in the future.

«Cabinet of Ministers has approved an order developed by Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine that improves the current procedures for the use of funds allocated by the state budget to support farmers. Thus, earlier the funds were distributed only in the 2nd half, which violated the requirements of the Budget Code. Today, farmers can use the money throughout the year,» said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

According to the Minister, the government provides interest-free loans to farmers for production, processing, production sales, machinery and equipment purchase, construction and rehabilitation of livestock buildings, laying of perennial crops, irrigation and land reclamation, renovation of working capital.

«On average, each farm unit receives over 100 thousand UAH from the state to use them for their own production needs. We observe the results of 3-year support — the average size of farm holdings increased by 8 hectares and is about 108 hectares. It is important for the Government to continue this support,» said the Minister.

It should be mentioned that at the beginning of the year there were nearly 41,000 farm units with 4.4 million hectares of farmlands.
