The State will pay compensation to farmers for supplied to slaughter cattle
Farmers who are the owners of the farms and cooperative members can receive compensations from the State for supplied to slaughter cattle. Such new direction of the State support will increase the meat supplies to the processing enterprises. Besides, it will provide an extra income for farmers. This was announced by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of the Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
«In 2012, the farm enterprises have supplied to slaughter 45% of the livestock and poultry in live weight. But only 48% of this volume was delivered to the possessing enterprises. In order to increase the sale of cattle from farms to processing plants we start to pay subsidies for the delivery of cattle and pigs. This new State support direction is good for the cooperative movement and meat production increase. Such compensations are paid together with young cattle keep dotations», Mykola Prysyazhnyuk mentioned.
According to the Minister, the stimulation of overweight cattle supplies to the processing plants is especially advantageous for farmers and members of cooperative associations. It motivates farmers to form cattle groups to deliver them into processing. Moreover, this form of support will provide organizations of an animal perpetual production cycle through cooperation development.
«The state has developed all necessary conditions to provide these compensations. Firstly, all animals must be identified by a veterinary medicine specialist. This will strengthen meat quality and safety control. Secondly, the procedure of documents execution and delivery is free. And thirdly, you should not collect a lot of papers. The number of required documents was reduced», Mykola Prysyazhnyuk added.
