The price of milk in Ukraine is already higher than in Europe
The calendar year is coming to the end, and only now the raw material market is getting a little «cooler» from price racing, which began in July-August and lasted for the last six months.
Processors have already come to terms with reality and are not trying to maintain volumes of milk at any price because in a week there will be a festive surplus. In general, the market seems to have entered a phase of expectation, at least for a few weeks.
In reality only few processors were able to satisfy the excessive desire of farmers, and producers who demanded for their milk 10-12 UAH/kg, realized that it was better to consistently obtain 8,50-9,70 UAH/kg from loyal partners.
Therefore, after the increased cost in the first week of December, the market has stabilized. Changes are still possible for the prices of milk from the population, where, in many regions, decisions on the final cost are frequently revised post factum during payments. Thus, the processors who buy such milk, only «closed» November at prices, on average, 50 cents higher than planned.
The range of the cost of raw milk from population in the first half of December, still fluctuates a lot and is 4-7 UAH/kg depending on the region and competition.
In the coming weeks, the purchase price will remain unchanged, the number of proposals on the secondary market will definitely increase, making the spot cost of raw milk decrease.
Changes in taxation and state support of agricultural producers, which will come into force on the first of January, will not affect the cost parameters of raw milk.
