The number of small holdings in Belarus is decreasing
The number of small holdings has been decreasing recently in Belarus.
This was announced by the Head of Department of reforming of entrepreneurship and small farms of the Ministry of agriculture and food Natalia Zanko.
According to her, as of 1 January of the current year in the Republic there were about 997 thousand farms of this kind. In comparison with what was until recently, the amount of arable land decreased by 2.1%, the number of cattle, pigs and poultry was reduced. «All this can be linked primarily to the availability of food for the rural population», — said Natalia Zanko.
