The dairy industry of China is actively developing
This was stated by Liu Jun, the counselor on trade and economic issues of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ukraine, during his report at the IX all-Ukrainian conference «Dairy business — 2016».
«During recent years, the dairy industry of China is actively developing, it is one of the most active sectors," said Liu Jun.
According to the data presented by the expert, in China 38.7 million tons of milk was produced in 2015. China takes the 3rd place, after India and the USA, among the milk producers in the world. The consumption of milk per capita is about 36,1 kg. The import of dairy products is 1.6 million tons, having decreased by 11.1% compared with the previous year. Export of dairy products has amounted to 33.3 thousand tons.
«The quality of the industry has increased significantly. First, it is due to improving the conditions of livestock. Also there is a gradual optimization of industrial structure, compliance with international standards," said Liu Jun.
According to experts, the number of milk processing enterprises declined by 167, compared with 2008. Two Chinese companies are among the top 20 dairy companies in the world. Liu Jun also said that in China, there are about 638 enterprises of the dairy industry with an annual output of more than 2 million U. S. dollars.
