Russia: export duty on wheat is the effective tool of the government — Ministry of Agriculture
The current export duties on Russian wheat became the useful tool for the government, which is used in case of need, declared the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Tkachev on May 25.
Of course, if it becomes harmful for agricultural producers and cause damages, the officials will cancel it. But on the other hand, if the market is not balanced yet, the macroeconomic situation is unfavorable, the crisis continues developing, so it is better to keep the customs duties, said the Minister.
Also, A.Tkachev said that the export duties work as the limiting factor for further growing of grain prices.
