This was stated by Minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine Taras Kutovoy in his welcoming speech, opening the first international Congress «Organic Ukraine 2017. Organic market development in Ukraine — from production to implementation».

«Organic production is growing at a frantic pace, but we try to ensure this process to be more systematic and much more visible both within the country and abroad. This industry is one of the most dynamic. In five years, we gain 90%», — said Taras Kutovoy.

He said that today organic production occupies only 400 hectares. However, he believes that this figure could be easily increased several times.

«During negotiations international partners recall that, under certain conditions, despite the closeness of their markets for import, they are willing to accept organic products. I think this is a very good indicator. In fact, the demand for organic products is very huge», — said the Minister.

The Minister also reminded that the development of organic production is defined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as one of the main priorities of the Ministry of agrarian policy in 2017.

«The support of organic production is also an important area of our strategy «3+5». Therefore, we developed the «organic» law, which was supported by the Cabinet of Ministers», — said Taras Kutovoy.
