Milk prices monitoring. July 2018
In the first half of the year, the flow of industrial milk to processing enterprises amounted to 1.2 million tons, which is 0.8% more than last year. The largest increase is noted for Extra Grade milk — 287.7 thousand tons (+36%), which is 21% in the share of the processed milk. Last year, this share was 15.6%.
The demand for Extra is noted in the price, which has increased by 0.13 UAH per month. The average price for milk in July of this grade was 8.98 UAH , including VAT.
This was reported by analyst of Association of Milk Producers of Ukraine (AVM) Yana Muzychenko.
The Higher Grade for the analyzed period rose only by 0.01 UAH, to 8.46 UAH, and Grade I, on the contrary, fell by 0.03 UAH and cost 8 UAH.This situation clearly shows the demand for what milk is now in the market.
According to the international standards, the price of milk in Ukraine in June is 26.68 euros/100 kg of ECM, which is 6.08 euros less than the average in Europe.
Milk price grew starting from August 1 due to the demand of processing plants and seasonal decrease in milk production in households. We expect that the price of Extra Grade will increase to 9.20−9.30 UAH/kg for milk amount of more than 10 tons, the price for the rest of the grades will be 0.30−0.40 UAH smaller.
