Within the framework of the meeting held in Mexico, the participants agreed on issuing a recommendation so the governments share their biosecurity, surveillance and outbreaks control plans and programmes with the aim of standardising the systems in the region.

They also proposed the design and the use of recognised equivalencies in the three countries with the aim of reaching, in the near future, the homologation regarding the zoning and regionalisation with the aim of accelerating the safe trade of livestock products between the North American countries.

For three days, the health authorities, technicians, producers and representatives of the livestock industry of the associated countries, tackled, in the premises of the SENASICA, matters of interest for animal health in North America.

They acknowledged the work carried out by the three nations for keeping the health status as a comprehensive area that provides confidence regarding the health certifications and contributes to the trade flow.

The participants highlighted that the technical and scientific exchange has allowed to optimise resources, reduce the response time, improve the collaboration work and facilitate the resolution of differences in trade.

They underlined that, among the achievements of the Committee, there is the commitment and the trilateral will to strengthen the veterinary services, the laboratories network, the homologation of diagnostic techniques, the prevention measures for the early detection of any exotic disease in terrestrial and aquatic animals, as well as the exchange of information and electronic certifications.
