This was announced by Director of Department of foreign economic relations and certification of "Lactalis Ukraine", Vladimir Martynchuk during the event "The Day of France in Ukraine" in the framework of the agricultural exhibitions «Grain Tech Expo», «Fruit. Vegetables. Logistics» and Agro Animal Show, transmit Ukrainian news.

"The trend on the market of milk purchase is that in our company 5-7 years ago 85% was the so-called "grandmothers", that is, individual owners of cows. Today, this share decreased to 30%," he said.

The representative of the company noted that dairy farming is one of the most labor-intensive industries, and its development in Ukraine will help to raise employment in rural areas.

"It is necessary to develop cooperatives and thereby combine the individual owners, and thus to improve the quality of milk. The milk from the population, which we have available today, is off-grade, the company uses it to manufacture technical casein," said Martynchuk.

So, according to him, the creation of cooperatives is the solution of two problems — improving the quality of milk and relieve of social tension in rural areas.
 
"We support this direction, now negotiate with the Association of milk producers about how to stimulate the creation of such cooperatives", — said the representative of the company.

At the same time, the Ministry of agrarian policy and food announced that it is also working on the search of mechanisms of state support through participation in cooperatives to promote the development of this area.

As it was reported by Ukrainian News, JSC "Laktalis-Nikolaev" together with the JSC "Lactalis-Pavlograd" enter the structure of the dairy company "Lactalis-Ukraine", which produces products under TM "President", "Lactonia", "Funny", "Dolce", Lactel.

The French group Lactalis has been working in Ukraine since 1996.
