In the nearest 5 years Ukraine plans to increase the production of industrial crops to 15 mln tonnes, grain production — to 80 mln tonnes, announced Nikolai Azarov, Prime Minister of Ukraine, on April 10.
In order to accomplish the target, annually the Ukrainian agro-industrial complex requires the systematic update of nearly 7.5 thsd combine harvesters, 35 thsd tractors of various types, more than 2.5 thsd planting complexes. However, the current level of development of the domestic engineering industry does not meet such requirements.
According to the Head of the Government there is the clear need to increase the production assets, and use all necessary tools: the government funding, and investment promotion, and public-private partnerships. Tax incentives were already created. There is needed a coordinated, substantive work of the authorities, enterprises and banks on the certain projects of development of the production, said N.Azarov.
