In the I half-year of 2013/14 MY, Ukraine to export nearly 16 mln tonnes of grains — Ukrainian Grain Association
In November-December period of 2013 Ukraine will supply nearly 6 mln tonnes of grains on foreign markets, declared Vladimir Klimenko, President of Ukrainian Grain Association, on November 5.
The expert said that in the current season Ukraine will be able to realize its potential for grain exports (30 mln tonnes). At the same time, the monthly shipment volumes of grains may total 3.4-3.5 mln tonnes.
According to Ukrainian Grain Association, low turnover of rail cars of Ukrzaliznytsya is directly linked to the need to obtain certificates of grain qualitative parameters in terms of domestic transportation.
As for the prospects of grain exports to the EU after signing of the Association Agreement, V.Klimenko noted that the supply volumes will not significantly increase, as Ukraine is already the largest supplier of grains on the reporting market. In 2012/13 MY the country exported nearly 8 mln tonnes of grains to the EU.
