In 2013 Ukraine exported 18.5 million tons of grain

 

Ukraine exceeded the planned volume of grain export in 2013. Thus, it was exported 18.5 million tons of domestic grain that is more than 4 million tons more against the same period of the previous marketing year. It was announced by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.

«We exceeded the planned volume of grain export in 2013. This is very important index of the domestic grain logistics organization. Thus, farmers exported 18.5 million tons of grain that is more than 4 million tons more against the same period of the previous marketing year. The index is very high,» said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

According to the Minister, the highest rates of grain deliveries were in November and December. In November farmers exported 4.6 million tons and in December — 4.4 million tons.

«Our corn is now highly competitive at the market and it is in a high demand. So, we continue to open new markets. Ukraine has proved that it plays an important role in ensuring global food security. Next year we will continue fixing these steps,» said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
