In 2013 export volumes of food products have increased by almost 26%
In January-February 2013 the production of food, beverages and tobacco products in Ukraine increased by 6.3% compared to the same period in 2012. It was informed by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk the Minister of the Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
«From the beginning of the year we see a steady accretion of most types of food processing industry. Thus, in January-February 2013 the production of food, beverages and tobacco products in Ukraine increased by 6.3% compared to the same period in 2012. In particular, there has been a significant increase in the production of animal products — meat of cattle and pork. But most of all it was managed to increase the production of frozen poultry meat — by 65.7%, »- said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
The Minister also said that the production of butter increased by 15%, and the production of fresh cheese — by 8.6%. In addition, domestic companies of food and processing industry increased the production of fruit and vegetable juices — by 21.7% and the production of soft drinks — by 22.9%.
The head of the department emphasized that export volumes of food and processing industries products have also increased significantly.
«It is very important that the export of finished products with added value is growing. Thus, in January-February export volumes of food and processing industry products have increased by 298.1 million, which is by 25.7%, compared with the corresponding period of 2012. Overall during this period the export of these products reached $ 1.5 billion»- added Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
