III Dutch Dairy Day

 

European experience for Ukrainians: III Dutch Dairy Day was held on September 17, on “Kyschentsi” dairy farm, which is located in Dobra village, Cherkasy region. Traditionally, the event was organized by the Association of Ukrainian Milk Producers, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine and Dykun company.

More than 300 owners and specialists of dairy farms, representatives of Ukrainian and Dutch companies participated in the event to exchange experience and find out solutions of problems that Ukrainian and global dairy sector face.

Dairy experts from the Netherland shared their secrets of “big milk”. Dutch technologies and Ukrainian dairy capacities can make a great effect. 

The official part was opened by Evert Jan Krajenbrink, Agricultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Andriy Dykun, President of Association of Ukrainian Milk Producers, gave an overview of the current situation in the Ukrainian dairy sector, focusing on the legislative issues. 

According to Olena Alshanova, the Deputy Director of Livestock Department, considerable decline in milk production is observed at rural households.

Jakob Brand, international agricultural manager of Rabobank: Dutch experience of cooperation in the dairy sector. Trends in global dairy production.

Eric Hostels, CEO Veypro Holland – the Dutch dairy information center: The quality of milk is the key to success.

Ben Braakman, dairy specialist and nutritionist, the Friesian reported on optimal usage of multi-ration grouping system.

Rene Kremers, managing director of DIFCO International BV: Breeding is considered to be an investment in the future farm’s profit rather than costs. 

Denys Serhienko, director of Consulting Center of Association of Ukrainian Milk Producers presented the economic aspects of milk production, focusing on the quality of forages. 

Case Hayzinha, director of "Kyschentsi" LLC is sure that farmer cooperative and sharing know-how is the only true solution and new opportunity for Ukrainian farmers.
