Grain export volumes will be over 3 million tons in October

Ukraine is approaching to the maximum grain shipment speed — over 3 million tons. Such dynamics will have ensured the export of planned 30 million tons of grain by the end of the marketing year. In general, since early July the farmers have exported 8.9 million tons of grain. It is almost 8% more than the last year. It was announced by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.

«National grain export volumes will reach the peak due to the well-coordinated work of all market participants. Thus, by the end of October the pace of grain supplies will have been over 3 million tons a month. The next month is expected to have the highest speed. At the same time, such export dynamics will secure the forecasted grain supplies in the amount of 30 million tons,» the Minister said.
According to Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, since the beginning of the marketing year Ukraine has already exported 8.9 million tons of grain. It is almost 8% more than the last year. Currently, there are ships with the total capacity of over 800 thousand tons to be loaded with over 350 thousand tons in the ports.
«We continue the cooperation with all grain market players to coordinate their work. It is necessary to strengthen Ukraine’s positions at the foreign markets. However, it is necessary to increase infrastructure opportunities due to the further yield growth and respectively export volumes. That’s why one of the important aspects of the Agrarian Sector Development Strategy by 2020 is investment attraction into the development of grain logistics,» the Minister emphasized.
