Cooperatives and family farms would increase milk purchase prices
Administrative regulation of milk purchase prices is only a temporary measure. Therefore, in order to obtain economically reasonable milk price farmers should increase its marketability and find the best ways of sales. This can be achieved through the development of family farms units that use modern technologies and cooperatives creation that promote the sales without intermediaries. This was announced today during the «Open Government Questions» at Verkhovna Rada by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
«We understand that the administrative regulation is a temporary measure for a short period of time. The main reason for a low milk purchase milk prices are unreasonable and uncontrolled mediators. They provoke agricultural losses.
Besides, farmers produce at home milk of low quality. It also reduces the price. The solution is to create cooperatives and family farms,» Mykola Prysyazhnyuk mentioned.
The Minister has said that the creation of family farms will increase the marketability of milk because they use modern equipment that provides high quality milk. Due to milk cooperatives creation the farmers will establish the best ways of sales, avoiding intermediaries.
«However, it will provide economically reasonable price for milk,» Mykola Prysyazhnyuk summed up.
