As of October 2, Ukraine harvested nearly 38 mln tonnes of grains — Ministry of Agrarian Policy
As of October 2, Ukraine harvested 37.732 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 11.65 mln ha (74% of the plan), with the average yield of 3.24 t/ha, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
According to the Ministry, on the same date last year agrarians harvested 33.263 mln tonnes of grains throughout 12.04 mln ha, with the average yield of 2.76 t/ha.
According to the Ministry, as of October 2, 2013, agrarians harvested 165.6 thsd tonnes of buckwheat throughout 136.2 thsd ha (74%), with the average yield of 1.22 t/ha.
Ukraine harvested 103.4 thsd tonnes of millet throughout 75.2 thsd ha (89%), with the yield of 1.37 t/ha.
Agrarians of Ukraine continued harvesting maize for grain. To date the harvested areas reached 887.2 thsd ha (18%), the production — 4.69 mln tonnes, the yield — 5.29 t/ha.
As of the reporting date, agrarians harvested rice throughout 6.3 thsd ha (26%), and produced 39.8 thsd tonnes of the grain with the average yield of 6.36 t/ha.
Ukraine also harvested sunflower seed throughout 2.54 mln ha (52%). The production volumes totaled 4.72 mln tonnes with the average yield of 1.86 t/ha.
Agrarians harvested soybeans throughout 334.4 thsd ha (25%), and produced 662.9 thsd tonnes, with the yield of 1.98 t/ha.
Besides, as of the reporting date Ukraine planted winter grains throughout the areas of 3.055 mln ha (37%), including wheat — 2.77 mln ha (42%), barley — 122.8 thsd ha (10%), rye — 153 thsd ha (51%). Ukrainian agrarians planted winter rapeseed throughout 831.2 thsd ha (90%).
